Family Orientation Program
Sign up for Family Orientation
Family Orientation program is a one day program designed to assist families with their student’s transition from high school to college. During the one day program, you will hear from students and administrators about important campus issues. Faculty will also share their academic expectations in the classroom.
The family orientation program will run concurrently, but separate from the student orientation program. The students will spend most of the day in their own sessions, and will be registering for classes, while you attend separate sessions to familiarize you with the resources available to you and your student.
Family orientation is optional, but highly encouraged. As a parent/guardian, you will continue to play an important role in your student’s personal development and academic success as they begin their college career.
If you are unable to attend Family Orientation on the same day as your student, due to your own schedule, you can choose to select another date that fits better into your schedule. Please note that registration is limited to two family members per student. Space is limited, so we encourage you to register as soon as possible to secure your chosen date.
In order to attend, you must register ahead of time, since space is limited. The cost is $20.00 per person, which covers the orientation materials and lunch with the Provost. The $20.00 registration fee is non-refundable and must be received prior to your attendance date.
Please print and fill in the online form and return it to the address provided at least 10 days before your chosen date. (i.e. if you plan to attend on June 18th please send your money by June 8th)
Discounted parking is available in the parking deck on University Avenue, you will receive a discount letter when you check in.
Check-in begins at 8:30am in the Paul Robeson Campus Center Multi-Purpose Room.
Family & Student Orientation will conclude by 5:00pm.
If you have any questions, please contact the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs at (973) 353-5800.
You will receive an email confirmation once we have received your registration form and payment.
