Gaining Research Access to the Center

1. Institutional Review Board (IRB) Forms

The first step in accessing the 3T Advanced Imaging Center is to fill out the UMDNJ Institutional Review Board (IRB) Forms. For additional information regarding the Newark Campus Institutional Review Board, visit their site at: http://www.umdnj.edu/irbnweb/.

2. Required Preparatory Course Work for Human Research

For UMDNJ Faculty Members
If you are a UMDNJ faculty member you must complete the UMDNJ Research, Integrity Training and Education based WEBCT-course (RITE).

For Rutgers University Faculty Members
If you are a Rutgers University faculty member you may take the Rutgers University Human Subjects Certification Program Course and/or the UMDNJ Research, Integrity Training and Education based WEBCT-course (RITE).

3. Department Chair Approval

Each investigator must secure the signature of the department chair (or designee) whether the investigator is affiliated with Rutgers or UMDNJ. The department chair's signature must appear in the section of the UMDNJ Newark Campus IRB application form entitled "Department Chair Approval."

Dr. Stephen Baker, Medical Director of the 3T Advanced Imaging Center, will sign all IRB Applications for the Newark Campus IRB prior to submission.
